The first parador was open in 1928 under the reign of Alphonse XIII of Spain who wanted to ensure the promotion of tourism in Spain.

Today 93 paradores established all over the Spanish territory represent a capacity of reception of more than 10.000 places. These hotels are installed in national monuments (castles, palaces, monasteries…) and are often with topic: cultural in Cordoue, for sportsmen in Cazorla or dedicated to golf in Malaga.
